To provide a little history on how the processing of linen-laundry and strategies have evolved overtime:
Many years ago, most hospitals laundries could be found in the basement of their facility. Through strenuous analysis and cost studies, it was decided that if one system could pull together enough poundage this allowed them to funnel as much product into one basement, thus allowing them to purchase the equipment to become much more efficient and providing significant cost savings.
As systems grew to 10’s, 20’s, and even hundreds of facilities. It was decided that they would build laundries much larger offsite and continue to pursue cost savings. The unique part about this was any savings or profit would be reflected both in costs and rebates back to the hospital.
This again transitioned about 20 years ago, this time big health care systems decided that although they competed on everything else, they decided to merge this service and consolidate their volumes. Evolving today to what is now known as cooperative laundries, these laundries are owned by hospital groups and management reports directly to a Board of Directors of each system. This gives the Hospital total control of the linen and laundry services, while providing huge cost savings. As in any other business, the bigger you are increases the amount of buying power you have, which can also assist in the use of technology and equipment.

Our Mission
It is our mission to scale our service model to entire systems, striving to bring a level of service and partnership that is like no other. We want to change the face of how linen and laundry vendors are perceived, most importantly to change the standards, and what is acceptable across the industry. Our team knows where the product is going and how it will be used. Every piece of linen we send out is with the care that we would want for our own families. It is our hope that by partnering with larger systems, we can apply this philosophy across North Carolina, to ensure that linen is not the concern of our Nations caregivers. Equally important, we want our partner facilities to view us as just that, partners! It is our belief that selecting a vendor in the service industry of care giving, should be an easy and painless process. When a customer works with Whitecap Linen we want to align our goals, ensuring our mutual success. Most importantly, we want you to feel like that laundry is still right down stairs in your basement.
What Separates Us
Every customer program has been built, molded and created to cater to the specific customer’s needs. It is our vision to create and change what is considered acceptable and standard in laundry services. Whitecap not only delivers the highest quality but also exceeds all Joint Commission, CDC and State department requirements in all aspects of our profession. We visually inspect each item to ensure a quality product, free of stains and tears. Our mission is to go above and beyond all aspects of the business, allowing you to focus on your core responsibilities and concerns.
